About my piece
Amy N, Ibiza, 2002

‘When diamorphine lost the beauty competition to MDMA, McConnell went to Ibiza, and the heat of its smiley face radiation, and came back with . . . a book of reflective, contemplative studies, that documented the planetary migration of youthful, soft nocturnal moth creatures, all in accord with their instinct, seeking an orientation with the light . . . not quite immolated (yet), miraculously surviving until the next day, but exhausted, and exposed to the abnormal puzzle of raw daylight’ Neal Brown

This project shot over 10 years eventually became a book called ‘Sex, Drugs & Magick (book two)’ (named after Robert Anton Wilson’s counter culture classic) published in 2015 with a text by author of ‘Altered State: The Story of Ecstasy and Acid House Matthew Collin

The picture of Amy also appears in the first major overview of my work ‘Contemporary Photographers’ published by Steidl and Photoworks in 2004

Gareth’s an artist we’ve loved for years for his singular aesthetic, and the vibrancy and emotive quality of his flower series. Gareth puts the same care into his prints (and interacting with us as buyers) as he does into his art. The saturation of the prints are rich and truly so beautiful. We just ordered additional work from a new series, and feel so honored to be collecting his work.
